Pre Wax Advice
- We need your hair to be at least 2mm for the wax to remove hair effectively, this is approximately 5-7 days growth.
- It’s a good idea to gently exfoliate 24/48 hours prior to your wax appointment this will loosen any trapped hairs & prevent ingrowing hairs .
- Take a warm( not too hot) shower on the day of your wax & do not apply any moisturiser.
- Please trim hair to approximately half an inch prior to your appointment. If you can’t trim for any reason your waxing therapist will do this for you.
- Avoid certain products, cease using retinol and prescription retinoids for 2–5 days before waxing. Some oral acne medications, like isotretinoin (Accutane), thin the skin, so you shouldn’t wax if you take them.
- Antibiotics can also impact skin sensitivity, wait a week after you’ve finished your course to wax, this also applies to your menstrual cycle.
- Please do not have a hot bath or shower, avoid direct sunlight or sunbathing, saunas or steam baths, and swimming pre & post waxing (24hrs).
- We recommend you wear loose cotton clothing to your appointment, this will prevent irritation and allow the skin to cool down.
Post Wax Advice
- We strongly suggest you do not shave between appointments & avoid exercise directly after being waxed.
- To maintain healthy skin between appointments we recommend regular exfoliation and moisturising (7 days after wax treatment).
- We suggest you wax on regular basis, every 4-6 weeks and you will find a softer & sparser re-growth.
- To keep your skin smooth & soft, we recommend a regular Vajacial.
- A selection of specialised waxing products are available to purchase after your wax appointment.
